The method involves locking an ophthalmic lens (L1) in an initial locking point and trimming the lens conforming to a spatial configuration of desired peripheral geometry with obtainment of a bevel (B2) on an edge of the lens. The lens is unlocked and is relocked in a relocking point. Geometrical coordinates of a point of an obtained periphery of the lens are acquired. A beveling groove (92) is embedded with the bevel (B2) from the acquired geometrical coordinates by using the relative mobility of the lens with respect to a finishing stone (341).
