摘要 The proposed method for measuring the diameter of a cylindrical article by optoelectronic device consists in generating a sheet light beam, exposing the article surface to the said light beam, converting the three-dimensional image of the article into the two-dimensional image of the curve that represents the circumference of the article, converting the image of the circumference of the article into a set of discrete dots, determining the mean circumference of the article by the image dots, the mean diameter of the circumference, and the deviation of the dots of the actual circumference from the mean circumference by using the method of linear approximation.
