Reclamation of additives from used sand

A process is proposed for the separation of the bentonite and carbon carrier particles from the dust obtained mechanically during used sand reclamation. Dust is collected in a cyclone 2 in a first phase. It is then removed from the cyclone and dried in a drier 4, the dried dust being conveyed in a second phase to a sifter 10. The bentonite and other reusable material is drawn off in a duct 14 while the quartz dust is removed via a discharge 12.
