<p>The system is for information transmission between a towing vehicle and a towed trailer and comprises electronic linkage and communication protocol which permit information exchange via a direct current lighting feed wire. The feed wire from the towing vehicle passes preferably to the left side of the constant trailer lighting. A feed wire from the towing vehicle passes preferably to the other - right - side of the constant trailer lighting (1,3). Earth (2c) or return conduits are also included and the electronic linkage in the towing vehicle is connected as master. The master linkage (4) controls the feed wire to the left side of the constant trailer lighting. The electronic linkage in the trailer is connected as slave (7). The slave linkage monitors via its connecting point (b) the voltage level on the wire. The slave linkage reports to the master linkage when any defect, such as the lighting, is observed. This information can be passed to the driver of the vehicle by means of a small control lamp.</p> |
