<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system of adjusting sensitivity in microphones capable of providing uniform sensitivity in a plurality of microphones, and capable of forming desired directional patterns. <P>SOLUTION: When the directional patterns are controlled for achieving various kinds of processing such as sound source separation and speech recognition; a calibration signal for sensitivity adjustment is inputted into a plurality of microphones 41, 42, and the output signals are used for creating information for calibration. For example, the spectrum ratio of each output signal is obtained for each frequency band, and an impulse response is obtained based on the obtained spectrum ratio. When various kinds of equipment, such as a portable telephone, are in an actual operating state for performing various kinds of processing, such as sound source separation and speech recognition; the information for calibration having been created by calibration processing is used for adjusting the sensitivity. For example, the obtained impulse response is used for performing convolutional arithmetic operation to correct the output signal of the microphone 42, and the sensitivity is adjusted to the same level as that of the microphone 41 to form target directional patterns. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
