PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for removing residual liquid in a communication passage and a method for removing residual liquid in the communication passage for preventing residual liquid in the communication passage after engine stop from freezing by removing residual liquid in the communication passage. SOLUTION: The device for removing residual liquid in the communication passage is provided with a compressed air introducing port provided in the communication passage provided between an intake passage and a crank room of an engine, a compressed air generator connected to the compressed air introducing port, and a first control valve provided between the compressed air introducing port and the compressed air generator and opened after engine stop. The method for removing residual liquid in the communication passage is provided with an accumulation process accumulating compressed air during engine operation and a blow process blowing compressed air in the communication passage after engine stop in this order.
