PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular electronic control device capable of easily writing software in an electrically re-writable non-volatile memory built in a microcomputer. SOLUTION: In the electronic control device, a second non-volatile memory is externally connected to a microcomputer with an electrically re-writable non-volatile memory being built therein. A control software adaptable to each vehicle type is stored in the non-volatile memory externally connected to the microcomputer for each vehicle type possible for a vehicle. The microcomputer is operated based on the software stored in the built-in non-volatile memory to perform the vehicular control (S130). Further, in this electronic control device, when the built-in memory re-write command signal is input from an external device, the microcomputer reads the control software stored in an external non-volatile memory and designated from the external device from the external non-volatile memory, and rides the control software in the non-volatile memory built in the microcomputer (S180).
