PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ruler, in which the pen point of a writing utensil is easily and precisely put upon the position of a zero point and, at the same time, the zero point of the graduation of the ruler is easily and precisely put upon the edge face of a matter to be measured at the measurement of the length of a rounded cornered matter. SOLUTION: At the position of the zero point of the graduation of a ruler main body, a zero point indicating member projecting outwards normal to the graduated side edge of the ruler main body is provided. The zero point indicating member is formed slidable towards the width of the ruler main body. The measure of the length of the zero point indicating member is set to be equal to that of the width of the ruler main body so as to form the member enabling to be housed by sliding opposite to the projecting direction under the condition that the length-wise both end edges in the housed state of the member become to coincide with the width-wise both end edges of the ruler main body.
