摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-perforated coated cutting chip exhibiting chipping resistance in high speed cutting. SOLUTION: In this non-perforated coated cutting chip, a hard coated layer including a lower layer composed of a Ti-compound layer and an upper layer composed ofα-type Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>layer is vapor-deposited on the surface of a chip base, and the cutting chip is fitted to a tool body by being clamped and tightened by a clamp piece. In a state that an abrasive material layer composed of a titanium nitride layer is vapor-deposited on the whole surface of the upper layer with an average layer thickness ranging from 0.5 to 5μm, an abrasive liquid mixed with SiC fine grains is injected thereto by wet blasting, thereby polishing the surface of theα-type Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>layer with the abrasive material layer of the clamp piece abutting part left unpolished to obtain a surface roughness Ra of 0.2μm or smaller.
