PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ice grain injecting apparatus and a funnel internal jam detecting method of an ice grain injecting apparatus, with the wall surface of a funnel partly transparent to attain good responsiveness, facilitate adjustment and inspection without optical detection, hardly causing a trouble and capable of detecting with high reliability. SOLUTION: This ice grain injecting apparatus 10 includes: an ice making machine 1 for making ice grains; a large funnel 2 for collecting the ice grains dropping from the ice making machine 1; piping 3 for carrying the ice grains collected by the large funnel part 2; and a small funnel 4 formed at an inlet of the piping 3, wherein a gap is formed between an outlet of the large funnel 2 and the small funnel 4, an optical sensor 5 is provided in the vicinity of the outside of the small funnel 4, and light is irradiated to the ice grains to detect the presence/absence of the ice grains.
