PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constantly correct a target stop position to bring it close to a correct value so that secular change of a rack or a stacker crane may be corrected without initial teaching. SOLUTION: Traveling and elevating are controlled by an encoder toward a target stop position, and stop is controlled by an ABS linear sensor with respect to the target stop position. A transfer means is operated after stop, a fixing mark is recognized on the target stop position side by a sensor arranged at a tip of the transfer means to evaluate an error, and data for the next target stop position are corrected.
