<p>An apparatus (4) for steelmaking dust compaction with which a compact having satisfactory strength can be produced from a raw dust while minimizing the amount of an additive to be added. When this compact is charged again into a furnace, it can improve the thermal efficiency of the furnace. The apparatus (4) for steelmaking dust compaction is an apparatus in which a raw material for compaction (11p), mainly in a granular form, molded from a powdery mixture of a steelmaking dust and a powder consisting mainly of carbon is pressed to form a compact (41). The apparatus (4) comprises a dampening means (10) and a compaction mechanism part (12). The steelmaking dust is a dust consisting mainly of iron and oxides thereof which generates in the course of steel production. The dampening means (10) infiltrates water into the raw material for compaction (11p) consisting mainly of the granules obtained with a granular (5). The compaction mechanism part (12) presses in a die (30) the raw material for compaction (11p) consisting mainly of the granules and dampened by the dampening means (10) to form the compact (41).</p> |
