<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module in which a housing and a stem furnished with an optical semiconductor device are assembled with sufficient strength of adhesion. <P>SOLUTION: The optical module (1) which transform either one of an optical signal and an electric signal to the other with the optical semiconductor device (14) comprises: the stem (26) which supports the optical semiconductor device (14); a cap member (16) which is connected to the stem (26) and seals the optical semiconductor device (14); and the housing (12) which holds a lens (10) so as to oppose to the optical semiconductor device (14), wherein a stepped part is formed between the cap member (16) and the stem (26), and an adhesive (50) is applied to cover the stepped part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
