PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus having a shaking correcting function which eliminates an assembly error factor regarding a mechanical position relation between a magnet and a Hall element, the assembly error factor between a mounting position of the Hall element and the mounting position of a coil to a mounting stage, and the error factor that the Hall element itself has a fluctuation in an inherent output characteristic. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus is provided with: an imaging device 101 to be movable to a direction crossing a photographic optical axis; a driving circuit 1254 to prevent or reduce an image shaking imaged by moving the imaging device 101 according to an image shake quantity imaged by the imaging device 101; a position detecting means 1252 to detect the position of the imaging device 101; and a storage means RAM107 to store a reference position information to show that the imaging device 101 is at the reference position based on the output of the position detection means 1252. The imaging apparatus detects the position of the imaging device 101 based on the reference position information stored in the storage means RAM107 when the imaging device 101 is driven by the driving circuit 1254.
