PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polar group-having stereo-regular propylenic copolymer, in more detail, a method for producing a polar group-having propylenic copolymer, comprising reacting a new propylene-alkylene dialkylaluminum copolymer with a decomposing agent to convert the dialkylaluminum groups in the copolymer into the polar groups corresponding to the decomposing agent. SOLUTION: This method for producing the polar group-having stereo-regular propylenic copolymer is characterized by copolymerizing propylene with an alkenyl dialkylaluminum compound represented by a chemical formula (A) [R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are each a 1 to 20C alkyl; (n) is an integer of 1 to 20] and then reacting the obtained propylene-alkylene dialkylaluminum copolymer with a decomposing agent to convert the dialkylaluminum groups in the copolymer into the polar groups corresponding to the decomposing agent. The present invention gives the polar group-having stereo-regular propylenic copolymer having the new comonomer structure. The copolymer can be produced without an expensive reagent and severe reaction conditions. OH, carboxy groups, sulfinyl groups and the like can be applied as the polar groups.
