PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detergent composition which can wash oil and fat components attached on surfaces of clothes, fabric products, carpet, sofa, plastics, metals, and floors without damaging their surfaces while taking environmental issues into consideration. SOLUTION: A water-soluble alkaline detergent composition comprises a natural higher alcohol-based nonionic surfactant as an essential component wherein D-limonene, etc. of grapefruit, orange, and lemon are blended.
