PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for producing an adamantane polyester having a fluoroadamantane structure. SOLUTION: The method comprises subjecting a compound represented by formula (1) (Q is -CHF- or -CF<SB>2</SB>- and six Qs may be the same or different; X is OH, a halogen atom or a group represented by formula -OR (R is a specific organic group); Y is H, F or a group represented by formula -COX; two Ys may be the same or different) and a polyhydric compound containing two or more hydroxy groups to polycondensation reaction in the presence of an aprotic solvent to produce an adamantane polyester containing two or more ester bonds formed by a reaction between a group represented by formula -COX of the compound and the hydroxy group of the polyhydric compound.
