PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new ultrasonic contrast medium and to provide a contrasting agent and a method comprising the medium. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic contrast medium for injection provides a contrasting agent for ultrasonic echography in the form of a suspension in an aqueous carrier liquid containing a surfactant, an additive and a stabilizer and comprises a biocompatible substance which is gaseous at body temperatures. The medium is a mixture of gases (A) and (B). At least one kind of the gas (B) is present in an amount of 0.5-41 vol.% and has a molecular weight of larger than 80 daltons and the solubility thereof in water is less than 0.0283 mL gas based on 1 mL of water measured under standard conditions.
