PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem where there has not been a riding type seedling transplanter having a short length in the longitudinal direction and having good workability, although there are various forms of riding type seedling transplanters having spare seedling trays. SOLUTION: This riding type seedling transplanter is characterized by dividing a body cover 41 of a riding type travel vehicle 1 into a front portion step 30a and a rear portion step 30b, integrally forming a fender portion 30c for covering portions above right and left driving rear wheels 7 and a climbing step 30d in the rear step 30b, forming right and left passages A forward extended from both the right and left sides of a steering wheel 42 in the front portion step 30a, disposing right and left spare seedling trays 70 on right and left support frames 71 upward disposed on the machine frame 4 in standing states, respectively, arranging the right and left spare seedling trays 70 on the front side of the driver's seat 43 of the riding type travel vehicle 1 on the side view of the machine frame, and forming the right and left spare seedling trays 70 in a state capable of being changed into a longitudinally short received form or a longitudinally long seedling-loaded work form.
