A blur estimator (300) for estimating a blur measure (Bm) for a region of an input image (Inp) is disclosed. The blur estimator (300) comprises: a first filter (302) for computing a first filtered image (Fill) on basis of the input image (Inp); a second filter (304) for computing a second filtered image (Fil2) on basis of the input image (Inp), the second filter (Fil2) being different from the first filter (Fill); a ratio computing unit (306) for computing ratio values between pixel values of the first filtered image (Fill) and respective pixel values of the second filtered image (Fil2); and a maximum operator (308) for outputting the blur measure (Bm) by determining a maximum ratio value of the set of ratio values corresponding to the region of the input image (Inp). |
