<p>A position adjustable steering apparatus (1) comprises a pivot shaft (9) inserted into an elongated hole (19) for tilting formed in a clamp (7) and an elongated hole (38) for telescoping formed in a bracket (8). When an operation member (10) is rotated around the axis (9a) of the pivot shaft (9), cam mechanisms (21, 22) engage the first lock teeth (61) of a first movable member (48; 48A) and the second lock teeth (54) of a second movable member (47; 47A) with the tilt lock teeth (20) of the clamp (7) and the telescopic lock (39) of the bracket (8) against an energizing member (46) for unlocking. The first guidance and limitation part (60) of the clamp (7) guides the movement of the first movable member (48; 48A) in the longitudinal direction of the elongated hole (19) for tilting. The second guidance and limitation part (56) of the bracket (8) guides the movement of the second movable member (47; 47A) in the longitudinal direction of the elongated hole (38) for telescoping. The first and second movable members (48, 47; 48A, 47A) are so fitted to each other as to be relatively rotated around the axis (9a).</p>
