<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment for anisotropic pigment film, which has achromatic color, is highly dichroic, has a high degree of molecular orientation, and is formed by a wet film formation method, an anisotropic pigment film containing the pigment, and a polarizing element using the film therein. <P>SOLUTION: The pigment for an anisotropic pigment film, which has the free acid form represented by the following formula (I) and is formed by a wet film formation method. The composition for anisotropic pigment film contains the pigment. The anisotropic pigment film contains the pigment. The polarizing element contains the anisotropic film used therein. In formula (I), A<SP>11</SP>is a (substituted) phenyl group, a (substituted) naphthyl group, or an (substituted) aromatic heterocyclic group, B<SP>11</SP>is a divalent aromatic hydrocarbon group or an aromatic heterocyclic group, R<SP>11</SP>and R<SP>22</SP>are each H, OH, or an (substituted) alkyl group, a (substituted) phenyl group or an (substituted) acyl group, n' is 1 or 2, and m is 0 or 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
