PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure reducer capable of suppressing turbulence of a flow of refrigerant. SOLUTION: The pressure reducer 1 is provided with a columnar component 3, and a cylindrical component 2. The cylindrical component 2 is arranged on an outer side of the columnar component 3. A spiral passage 7, a middle area passage 5, and a large area passage 6 are formed in the pressure reducer 1. The spiral passage 7 is in between a spiral groove formed on one of the columnar component 3 or the cylindrical component 2, and a circumferential face of the other. The middle area passage 5 is adjacent to the spiral passage 7, and a passage area is larger than the spiral passage 7. The large area passage 6 is arranged in an opposite side to the spiral passage 7 of the middle area passage 5. In the large area passage 6, a passage area is larger than the middle area passage 5.
