PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording liquid container arranged such that recording liquid does not leak during transportation, and to provide an image forming apparatus equipped with the recording liquid container. SOLUTION: A partition wall 105 is provided between the top surface of a recording liquid containing section 101 and a passage 103 opening to the atmosphere. A small hole (coupling hole) 106 interconnecting the recording liquid containing section 101 and the passage 103 opening to the atmosphere and having such size, profile and length as a meniscus is formed by surface tension and the recording liquid does not intrude into the passage 103 opening to the atmosphere due to viscosity or prescription of the recording liquid 100 even when a head tank shakes by vibration during transportation is formed in the partition wall 105.
