PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polycarbonate copolymer having excellent control of molecular terminal and molecular weight. SOLUTION: The method for producing a polycarbonate copolymer comprises, in a method for reacting an alkali aqueous solution containing at least two kinds of aromatic diols represented by general formula (1) with phosgene in the presence of an organic solvent, (a) using a carbonate oligomer having the ratio of a terminal chloroformate group concentration to OH group concentration of≥1.5 as a starting raw material, (b) collectively adding a catalyst-containing alkali aqueous solution with alkali concentration of 0.5-3.0 normalities adjusted to≤10°C to the raw material and (c) carrying out a polycondensation reaction at≤15°C.
