PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a complex machine to perform an original reading operation in a different mode at the point of time when there is no more original in an automatic continuous paper feeding part without requiring a point by point selection input other than a job performance indication. SOLUTION: The complex machine performs a plurality of jobs along with the original reading operation. When the performance of the job is started in response to an indication input while the job corresponding to the indication input is the first job, a display part displays reading continuity confirmation at the point of time when there is no more original in the automatic continuous paper feeding part and an image reading part continues the reading of an additional original which is added to the automatic continuous paper feeding part in response to the confirming operation as the continuation of a reading termination original where the reading is terminated. When the job corresponding to the indication input is the second job, the image reading part automatically stops the reading at the point of time when there is no more original in the automatic continuous paper feeding part.
