PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earthquake-proof monument which has excellent earthquake proofness and a good appearance. SOLUTION: A lower-end fit-in part 3 of a monument body 2 is fitted into a fit-in recess 5 which is provided on a supporting base 6, and the supporting base 6 and the lower-end fit-in part 3 are fixed together by means of a bolt 33. In the supporting base 6, a bolt inserting hole 29 is provided in a wall part 32 behind the recess 5; a screw shank 35 of the bolt 33, which is inserted through the hole 29, is screwed into a female screw part 26 which is provided in the lower-end fit-in part 3; and the bolt 33 is fastened. Thus, the lower-end fit-in part 3 abuts on the rear wall part 32; and a drainage gap 19 is formed between a front wall part 75 and the lower-end fit-in part 3, and concealed from the upside with a cover protrusion 18 which is provided on the lower end side of the monument body 2.
