The invention relates to a wind deflector (1) for motor vehicles, comprising a base element (2) that can be attached to part of the vehicle, an extension element (3), which is mounted so that it can pivot in relation to the base element (2), a displacement device (4) for pivoting the extension element (3) between a stored position and an extended position, a deflector element (5) that can be attached to the base element (2) and the extension element (3) and at least one elastic pre-tensioning device (6; 7, 8; 10; 11; 13; 16; 18) that is coupled to the deflector element (5) and that exerts a predetermined pre-tensioning force on at least some parts of the deflector element (5) in the direction of the base element (2) and/or the extension element (3), to fully stretch the latter between said base element (2) and extension element (3), when the latter (3) is extended. |
