PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering brightness enabling a mercury lamp to be re-used. SOLUTION: A terminal monitor 1, having such defect of LCD display that an image plane is dark or image is not displayed, is prepared. An LCD module 2 is taken out by disassembling the terminal monitor 1, a cold cathode tube 5 of a backlight is taken out by disassembling the LCD module 2 and a coated lead wire 3 connected to the cold cathode tube 5 is taken out together with a connector 4. The cold cathode tube 5 is put into a thermostat oven 6 and heated for a certain length of time. Afterwards, the module is reconstructed by connecting the coated lead wire 3 to the cold cathode tube 5, and mounting the above on the LCD module 2. Finally, the LCD module 2 is assembled to the terminal monitor 1 after recovery of the brightness on the image plane of the LDC module 2 is confirmed.
