The method involves applying a cleaning fluid on a surface of parts to be cleaned in a toilet tank (3). A pump (9) or a supply unit (6) is operated for supplying the cleaning fluid in the inner side of a toilet bowl (2), where the cleaning fluid is pumped in a closed or opened loop. A temperature sensor is provided for measuring the temperature of the cleaning fluid. A boiler is used for warming the cleaning fluid till to a preset temperature based on temperature determined by the temperature sensor. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a cleaning device for implementing the method for cleaning the toilet tank (2) an application of the cleaning device for cleaning the toilet tank and/or a toilet bowl of a toilet.
