<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid fuel and a fuel cell which can suppress a crossover. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid fuel contains an ionic micro-gel. A content of the ionic micro-gel is not less than 0.1 wt.% and not more than 5.0 wt.%. The liquid fuel contains a fuel constituent of not less than 10 wt.% and not more than 99.9 wt.%.
