<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device equipped with a toner conveyance member using a traveling wave electric field, wherein the toner is prevented from remaining on the toner conveyance member after developing processes are terminated. <P>SOLUTION: The developer conveyed by rotation of a developer carrying member 13b is further conveyed to a developing region by a toner conveyance member 13a using a traveling wave electric field to develop a latent image on a latent image carrying member 11, while the toner conveyed to a downstream side than the developing region by the toner conveyance member 13a is recovered by a recovering means 13. When developing processes are terminated in the developing device, driving of the developer carrying member 13b is first terminated, and then after a predetermined time is passed, toner conveyance by the toner conveyance member is terminated. Thereby, the toner is prevented from remaining on the toner conveyance member. Electric power to the toner conveyance member 13a and to the recovering means 13f in the developing device is supplied from an auxiliary power supply separated from the power supply of the main image forming apparatus. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
