<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control pixels to emit light at a desired luminance and to improve the light emitting area rate of each pixel. <P>SOLUTION: The gate electrode of a transistor (hereinafter represented by Tr) 10 is connected to a scanning line X<SB>i</SB>, while the drain electrode of Tr10 is connected to the drain electrode of Tr12. The drain electrode of Tr12 is connected to a power supply line V<SB>i</SB>, while the gate electrode of Tr12 is connected to the source electrode of Tr10. The source electrode of Tr12 is connected to the drain electrode of Tr12 and to the anode of an organic EL element E<SB>i,j</SB>. The gate electrode of Tr11 is connected to a scanning line X<SB>i</SB>, while the source electrode of Tr11 is connected to a signal line Y<SB>j</SB>. In a selecting period, Tr11, 12, 13 are turned on to write a designated current value in Tr11. In a non-selecting period, only Tr 12 is turned on and a current at the current value written in Tr11 flows into the organic EL element E<SB>i,j</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
