PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To specify a peptide that exhibits blood serum cholesterol-reducing effects among proteins contained in egg white having abundant dietary experiences, and to provide a blood serum cholesterol-lowering agent comprising the cholesterol-reducing peptide and a food composition containing the same.

SOLUTION: The blood serum cholesterol-lowering agent is represented by the following amino acid sequence: Gly-Leu-Trp-Glu-lys. The food composition exhibiting the blood serum cholesterol-lowering action contains the blood serum cholesterol-lowering agent.
