PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document management system capable of easily retrieving a document at high speed, and to provide a control method and a computer program for a document management client thereof. SOLUTION: A document management client computer acquires index information set in a DB or a document inside the DB from a document management server, and stores it in a document management client to use it for the retrieval.
