<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device using a two-component developer, the device being compact and capable of preventing carrier deterioration, keeping the cleaning performance of an image supporting member and performing a favorable image forming process for a long time. <P>SOLUTION: The device includes: a developer containing a toner, a carrier, reverse polarity particles that are charged with a polarity reversed to the charging property of the toner and having a particle size distribution with the peak particle size of 0.8 to 1.5 μm, and particles having a particle size distribution with the peak particle size of 0.2 to 0.6 μm; a developer tank that houses the developer; a developer supporting member that supports the developer on the surface thereof and transports the developer; a separating means that separates the reverse polarity particles from the developer on the developer supporting member; and a recovering means that recovers the reverse polarity particles separated by the separating means into the developer tank. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
