PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a movable wall type dam body capable of positively preventing inundation into a dam when a high tide, a seismic sea wave, or the like strikes in the movable wall type dam body installed at the water's edge and leading water outside the dam into a skeleton to give buoyancy to a movable wall to thereby project the movable wall upward from the skeleton. SOLUTION: The movable wall type dam body installed at the water's edge comprises the skeleton 1 formed in box shape and provided with a slit-like opening 2 in an upper part, and water intake holes 3 formed in a sidewall part 1a on the dam outer side, located below the normal time water level of water outside the dam and normally closed, and the movable wall 5 enclosed in the skeleton 1 and formed by providing a hollow body 5a erectly with a wall body 5b. When the danger of abnormal water level rise of water outside the dam is predicted, the water intake holes 3 are opened to lead water outside the dam into the skeleton 1 from the water intake holes 3.
