PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontally circulating parking apparatus which includes a longitudinal transporting device having a thin vertical thickness and being operable without a hitch during longitudinal transportation. SOLUTION: According to the structure of the parking apparatus, a single endless chain 45 is wrap-connected to driving and driven sprockets 39, 41 which are rotatable about vertical spindles 43 in the horizontal plane, and two circulating moving bodies 55 are connected to the endless chain 45 so as to be symmetric with respect to a circulation track center as a reference. Then an elliptic endless track body 57 is arranged at a location close to an external lower side of a circulation track of the endless chain 45. Further an engaging roller 89 of each circulating moving body 55 is engaged with a second engaging groove member p6 arranged in a pallet lower surface, when it is located at one of arched track portions 61 of the endless track body 57, and each circulating moving body 55 is connected to a pallet which is then longitudinally moved toward the other arched track portion 61 along a linear track portion 59. When each circulating moving body 55 reaches the other arched track portion 61 to be inverted, the engaging roller 89 is disconnected from the second engaging groove member p6, and thus each circulating moving body 55 is detached from the pallet.
