PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for infiltrating an alkaline silicate, by which a semisolid gelatinization reaction of an alkaline silicate infiltrating material can quickly be advanced surely. SOLUTION: When the alkaline silicate is infiltrated into concrete in order to prevent the deterioration of the waterproofing property or water absorbing property of a reinforced concrete structure, an aqueous solution of calcium salt is also infiltrated into the concrete almost simultaneously. As a result, ion exchange is made between a calcium ion supplied from the outside and a hydrogen ion in the alkaline silicate at a step of advancing the semisolid gelatinization reaction of the alkaline silicate infiltrated into the concrete to lower the pH value and consequently the dissolution of calcium hydroxide in the concrete is promoted. Since the calcium ion to be generated by the dissolution of calcium hydroxide acts in the same manner as the calcium ion supplied from the outside does, the semisolid gelatinization reaction can be advanced strongly as a whole.
