PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus capable of performing an accurate diagnosis by automatically following a set ROI (Region Of Interest) in accordance with the movement of a living tissue object in a function of temporally analyzing a tissue strain tomogram of a living body. SOLUTION: An ultrasonic transmission and reception part 7 transmits ultrasonic waves to the living tissue of a subject 5, and obtains reflection echo. A strain arithmetic part 13 obtains a strain by differentiating displacement distribution of points inside the living tissue before/after pressurization obtained by pressurizing the living tissue of the subject 5. A display part 23 hue-modulates the strain amount of the living tissue and displays a tissue elastic image as hardness information of the living tissue. When an operator designates the observation area of the displayed tissue elastic image as an ROI area, a control arithmetic part 17 automatically follows the ROI set to a tumor, fat, etc. according to the movement of the object.
