New biofuel components and a method of obtaining new biofuel components for compression-ignition engines for use as a biofuel or an additive for a petrochemical fuel oil based on the reaction of a plant or animal fat with a stoichiometric surplus of a low molecular mass alkyl ester of a C₁-C₇ carboxylic acid and C₁-C₆ monoalcohol in the presence of an acidic catalyst, performed at the mixture's boiling temperature, and then the optional subsequent partial distillation of the unreacted low molecular mass alkyl ester.
