The device has a locking unit arranged at a flap unit, and an interlocking device (4) comprising a hole (31) for guiding the locking unit. The flap unit is arranged such that a buffer unit is deformed during a closing process of the flap unit. The flap unit is held in a momentary intermediate closing position, when a counter force is generated by the buffer unit for the closing process of the flap unit, based on the deformation of the buffer unit. The counter force exceeds a closing force that acts on the buffer unit and that is generated by the closing process of the flap unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for actuating a flap unit of a vehicle.
