<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkaline battery which is excellent in discharge characteristic and has a long discharge life even in high rate discharge. <P>SOLUTION: The alkaline battery comprises a gelled negative electrode containing a zinc alloy powder and an electrolyte consisting of an alkaline aqueous solution, where the zinc alloy powder is made of a zinc alloy containing 600 to 3,000 ppm of aluminum, and grains in size of 75 μm or less account for 10 to 40 mass% of the zinc alloy powder. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
