PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a status communication apparatus and program which detect and transmit the surrounding status when a user is not touching a device. SOLUTION: Measurement processing is activated to decide that the user is touching the device in advance on the basis of sensed data from an optical sensor, a pressure sensor, and a temperature sensor (S3). If the user is touching the device (YES in S5), emotion information detecting processing for inferring the emotion such as excitation of the user is executed to calculate a situation inference value (S6); and if not touching (NO in S5), surrounding information detecting processing such as movement around the status communication terminal or loudness is executed to calculate a situation inference value (S7). The status of an own terminal is displayed on the lower half of a case using the calculated status inference value (S8), and the status is transmitted to an intermediary server; the status inference value of another status communication terminal is received from the intermediary server; and the status of a designated terminal designated by the user based on the status inference value is displayed on the upper half of the case (S10).
