METHOD AND SYSTEM TO TEST SLIDER FOR HEAD GIMBAL ASSEMBLY OF DISK DRIVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system of testing the slider used in a head gimbal assembly and a disk drive to prevent defects in the manufacturing steps of a slider and cost increase in assembling steps. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of a slider, a slider is mounted on a test head suspension assembly in a removable manner to test its dynamic performance before it is incorporated in an end product. The defective sliders found in the test are removed from the test head suspension assembly and rejected. The nondefective sliders are mounted on the HGAs. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
