PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document management system and the like capable of making information recorded in a paper medium text data without forcing a user to perform complicated operation and sharing them among a plurality of users efficiently. SOLUTION: A document management server 40 is provided with a data conversion means 43 and, when the paper medium is copied by a copying apparatus 20, acquires image data generated by the copying apparatus 20, and converts them into text data. A keyword extraction means 44 extracts a keyword from the text data and a database access means 45 associates the text data with the keyword to register them in a document information database 50.
