PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-perforated coated cutting chip exhibiting chipping resistance in high speed cutting. SOLUTION: In this non-perforated coated cutting chip, a hard coated layer including a lower layer composed of a Ti-compound layer and an upper layer composed ofα-type Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>layer is vapor-deposited on the surface of a chip base, and the cutting chip is fitted to a tool body by being clamped and tightened by a clamp piece. In a state that an abrasive material layer composed of a titanium nitride layer is vapor-deposited on the whole surface of the upper layer with an average layer thickness ranging from 0.5 to 5μm, an abrasive liquid mixed with Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>fine grains is injected thereto by wet blasting, thereby polishing the surface of theα-type Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>layer with the abrasive material layer of the clamp piece abutting part left unpolished to obtain a surface roughness Ra of 0.2μm or smaller.
