Disclosed is an electric system, especially a medium-voltage switchgear, comprising at least one metal-enclosed functional module (1, 1') and a pressure relief duct (11) which extends parallel to a front face of the electric system, is closed at each end, and is provided with at least one inlet (12, 13, 14, 15) located on the bottom thereof to join the respective functional module (1, 1') to the pressure relief duct (11), and several discharge slots that extend perpendicular to the pressure relief duct (11) and are covered by means of covering metal sheets (21, 21') which are disposed at a distance above the discharge slots (23, 23') and have a width matching the width of the discharge slots (23, 23').
