<p num="1"><br/><br/><br/>An apparatus for separating solids from a solids laden fluid, the apparatus <br/>comprising a container (C, 102) for containing a solids laden liquid and box <br/>(X, 104) having at least one opening therein and a screen assembly (A, 110) <br/>arranged over said opening and a vibratory apparatus for imparting vibrations <br/>to said screen assembly, wherein in use, at least a part of the screen <br/>assembly (A, 110) is immersed in the solids laden liquid in the container (C, <br/>102) and an inlet for introducing the solids laden fluid into the container, <br/>characterised in that said apparatus further comprises a deflector (117) <br/>adjacent the inlet for directing material flowing through the material input <br/>away from the screen assembly. An apparatus for removing solids from a solids <br/>laden fluid, the apparatus comprising a vibratory apparatus (108) and a screen <br/>(110) which lies in a plane which is not vertical so that one face of the <br/>screen (110) is directed generally downwardly and the opposite face is <br/>directed generally upwardly, and means for introducing the fluid to the screen <br/>such that the fluid passes through the screen from the side of the screen <br/>having the generally downwardly directed face through to the side having the <br/>generally upwardly directed face, characterised in that a conveyor (130) is <br/>arranged beneath the screen to carry the solids away from the screen, the <br/>conveyor (130) including an auger (132) .<br/>
