<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the disadvantage that the generated torque of an engine decreases undesirably while protecting a fuel injection valve or the like. <P>SOLUTION: In a common rail type fuel injection system including a fuel pump 11, a common rail 20 and an injector 23, the injector 23 injects high-pressure fuel supplied from the common rail 20 to the engine and leaks part of the high-pressure fuel. An ECU 50 controls the quantity of heat of the fuel leaked by the injector 23 from the amount of fuel remaining in the fuel tank 10. In this case, especially, a target value of the fuel pressure within the common rail 20 is changed to a pressure-decreased value, and the fuel pressure is controlled depending on the changed target value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
